Tips on Engaging Elected Officials
What to Do...
Identify clearly the subject in which you are interested. Say “I want to talk to you about the (subject matter).”
Restrict yourself to only one or two points.

Be brief and to the point when talking to any elected official, because their time - and this is especially true the higher the office - is often limited. Clear messages will work best.

What Not to Do...
Don't threaten. Present your best arguments in favor of your position; be considerate and respectful.

Don't link campaign contributions to legislative support.
