Now, these are just two conflicts taking
place in one part of the world, the Middle East. But the threat of
Islamofascist aggression goes well beyond the Middle East and we’ll briefly
touch on some other conflicts before we get to the issue of the United
States.
Africa
On the African Continent we are seeing a
dramatic rise in the encroachment of radical Islam, especially in the Horn
of Africa and especially since Osama bin Laden and Ayman al Zawahri issued
orders for all those aligned with al Qaeda to “regroup” there.
Radical Islamist groups such as the Union of
Islamic Courts, al Qaeda, the Janjaweed Militia, and the Salafist Group for
Call and Combat, to name but a few, are violently surfacing in Somalia,
Ethiopia, Sudan, Algeria and Morocco
Asia
In Asia, there has been a sustained presence
of a plethora of governments, organizations and factions devoted to the
practice and adherence to radical Islam including: al Qaeda and the Taliban
in Afghanistan and Pakistan, al Qaeda and allied groups Lashkar-e-Taiba and
Tablighi Jamaat – to name but three in India and Kashmir, and
the Taliban, al Qaeda, the Islamic
Jihad Union and the Islamic Movement of Uzbekistan in Uzbekistan.
Asian South Pacific
Another hotbed of Islamofascist
enclaves is in the Asian South Pacific. The Philippines have been waging a
protracted battle against radical Islamist groups for decades including Abu
Sayyaf, Jemaah Islamiyah, al Qaeda, and the Moro Islamic Liberation Front,
to name but a few. Because of the ease of movement throughout this region
and the ability to move in a relatively clandestine fashion these groups and
many more exist throughout the South Pacific including in Indonesia,
Malaysia, East Timor and Thailand.
Europe
As we are all quite aware, Europe
is in the thick of the Islamofascist advancement. From bombings in London
and Scotland, to the riots on the outskirts of Paris, to the Madrid bombings
and the arrests of militant Islamists in Denmark, Germany, Italy and The
Netherlands, Europe, it can be argued, is in peril of not only being taken
by force, but by being taken by simple attrition.
Immigration into European
countries by Islamists has grown exponentially, and in each instance, an
overwhelming majority of those doing so are refusing to assimilate into the
cultures of the host countries. Throughout Europe there is concern about
the steady increase in radical clerics preaching at a growing number of
Mosques. Lest we forget, the London bombers and those recently arrested in
Germany were homegrown converts, seduced by the radical messages of
indoctrination prevalent in all of the radical Imams’ preachings.
South America
Perhaps one of the most
under-reported locations for the spread of radical Islam – Islamofascism –
is South America.
The US Drug Enforcement Agency has
known for decades that groups like Hezbollah and Hamas – and more recently
al Qaeda – have been expanding their operation into South America. This
expansion has been employed to exploit the illegal drug market for its
ability to generate considerable financial streams, financial streams that
no one questions.
All three terror organizations
have set-up operations throughout South America and in high concentration
within the Tri-Border Area located between Paraguay, Brazil and Argentina.
Once again we see a cooperative effort between Sunni and Shiite in an effort
to compromise the security and sovereignty of the United States.
When one
brings into the mix the growing friendship between Venezuela’s Hugo Chavez
and Iran’s Mahmoud Ahmadinejad it gives cause for concern, especially with
the southern border of the United States as porous and unsecured as it is.
